Owen Maigret has been creating and curating vibrant cultural experiences for over three decades, blending art, music, and community in ways that leave a lasting mark.

His journey began in 1991, producing independent punk shows in San Francisco, before expanding into the underground house and warehouse party scene between 1993 and 1994. Designing his own flyers on an early computer, his distinctive style quickly became known as Owenart.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Owen organized events across California, as well as in Seattle and Hawaii, building a reputation for unforgettable gatherings. Alongside his event work, he released acclaimed music and created cover art for some of the most respected house music labels in the world — an experience he remains deeply grateful for.

In 2004, Owen moved to Panama, where he founded a reggaeton label with a mission that went beyond music. He provided opportunities for friends coming out of prison and off the streets, offering them jobs and a creative outlet. The label produced several releases he remains proud of to this day.

By 2010, Los Angeles was calling — its energy reminiscent of San Francisco’s creative boom in the ’90s. There, Owen returned to producing events with a network of longtime friends, continuing to foster collaboration and artistic expression.

Today, Owen dedicates over sixty hours a week to his fine art practice, specializing in oil painting and stone carving. Each piece reflects decades of lived experience, cultural exploration, and an unwavering commitment to creativity. This website is both a showcase of his work and a chronicle of the journey that shaped it.
